I thought of one!

For an improvement you can give us a handout at the end of the semester with all the websites you have shown with us (and any other good ones you have) with a description of what they are for. That would be a huge help!

What I've learned

This class has been awesome, I was very nervous at first because I am not very good at the internet. But this has been great, to realize I can figure things out on the internet- when before I was so clueless. The site and blogs and picture editing was really helpful for me. And making videos too! I cannot think of anything that would improve it. Maybe less posting once we get the hang of it, so that it's not just busy work- but they are all reflecting posts so that is a good thing too...so I guess nothing that I can think of right now:) Thanks!

something i would like to learn...

I would like to learn how to video edit with real videos, and how to make that into a presentation or DVD. I think it could be similar to what we did with our project #2 but I am not sure, because I have never done it:)

gmail chat- i've chatted with my little niece who is 2 yrs old and is living in Washington right now. She is a ball of energy and I miss her a ton! However it is tough for young kids to figure out how this works and so she gets confused and loses interest really fast because I'm not really there. but still fun to see her gorgeous face.

review from first project and next project

I actually really enjoyed the website project, it was a good experience to experiment with something like that (that previously I have had no experience with). And now that I have some sort of idea of how do it, hopefully I can use that in the future for my class or a family project or something of that nature. It took a long time to do, but was worth it in the end. For my next project I plan to make a video to address the topic of Objective 3
Examine mental illness. Because this can be such a powerful, personal lesson if taught correctly and it is hard to get to that point. I think a video mutlimedia project will have a neat effect.

New collabrative tool...

Keep and Share – Keep and Share is a group file sharing system. Accounts are password-controlled and secure enough to store sensitive information.

This is a new collaborative tool that I have never heard of, that could be very beneficial in the school setting for group work. This would help minimize the common problem that comes with group work and not being able to get together at a decent time. It was interesting reading my classmates blogs and seeing that a lot of this was new to them. Something that was a new thought to me that my classmates said, was that these tools would be helpful for students who miss class. This was a great idea.

My Classroom Website

I actually thoroughly enjoyed this project. I was very lost as to where to start but then once I got the hang of things, and learned how to snoop around to figure things out it was fun! I am excited to know these practical tools to use in my classroom. I probably will continue to work on it until I start teaching next Fall.

Twitter...

Within that last few weeks I have heard Twitter mentioned endlessly and I was clueless every time. I am not very good at keeping up with the technical world and so it takes awhile for me to catch on. Because I knew nothing about this new system of networking I decided to learn of it...Its an interesting concept. I do not understand why someone should need to know what a person is doing every second of the day. The only realistic benefit I see is for a kid to use Twitter to inform both parent of their whereabouts. Within the classroom, this could be used to remind student's when an assignment is due. Because they are probably already looking at updates from friends, it would be likely that they would see the reminder for assignments. This could help students and their grades. However, it is maybe crossing the line and 'babysitting' the students too much. It is lessening their responsibilities as a student, and if we continue to do this as teachers than we will be harming our students. Maybe students could use it peer-to-peer in reminding each other for tests and group assignments...Looking at my other group mates blogs (I felt like a stalker a little bit), but saw that they are doing great work and have made some good insights). I finally figured out how to "follow" their blog as well, so I guess you could say I'm making improvements!

My Personal Learning Network

Here are some sweet blogs that can be used in my health profession (to help me individually as a teacher, or to be useful to my students directly)...

I could direct my students to a yoga blog to learn about it during our fitness unit...

For health blogs on a variety of subjects my students could reference...

For family relationships/health...

Reviewing my classmates blog on copywrite

Copy Right Certification

I learned a good deal about copyright that I didn't know before. The part which was most beneficial to me was the fact that as a teacher I can use videos in class and be ok with it. The Fair Use is wonderful and has allowed us to be available to so much!

This one's with audio

This might be a little easier to understand... but for some reason the volume is still really low, so you will have to manually make it louder.

I've never done this before

Im not very good with computers nor technology, this is a good chance for me to work on it. My husband is very excited that I am starting a blog. For some reason I am not.
