My Classroom Website

I actually thoroughly enjoyed this project. I was very lost as to where to start but then once I got the hang of things, and learned how to snoop around to figure things out it was fun! I am excited to know these practical tools to use in my classroom. I probably will continue to work on it until I start teaching next Fall.

Twitter...

Within that last few weeks I have heard Twitter mentioned endlessly and I was clueless every time. I am not very good at keeping up with the technical world and so it takes awhile for me to catch on. Because I knew nothing about this new system of networking I decided to learn of it...Its an interesting concept. I do not understand why someone should need to know what a person is doing every second of the day. The only realistic benefit I see is for a kid to use Twitter to inform both parent of their whereabouts. Within the classroom, this could be used to remind student's when an assignment is due. Because they are probably already looking at updates from friends, it would be likely that they would see the reminder for assignments. This could help students and their grades. However, it is maybe crossing the line and 'babysitting' the students too much. It is lessening their responsibilities as a student, and if we continue to do this as teachers than we will be harming our students. Maybe students could use it peer-to-peer in reminding each other for tests and group assignments...Looking at my other group mates blogs (I felt like a stalker a little bit), but saw that they are doing great work and have made some good insights). I finally figured out how to "follow" their blog as well, so I guess you could say I'm making improvements!

My Personal Learning Network

Here are some sweet blogs that can be used in my health profession (to help me individually as a teacher, or to be useful to my students directly)...

I could direct my students to a yoga blog to learn about it during our fitness unit...

For health blogs on a variety of subjects my students could reference...

Reviewing my classmates blog on copywrite

Copy Right Certification

I learned a good deal about copyright that I didn't know before. The part which was most beneficial to me was the fact that as a teacher I can use videos in class and be ok with it. The Fair Use is wonderful and has allowed us to be available to so much!

This one's with audio

This might be a little easier to understand... but for some reason the volume is still really low, so you will have to manually make it louder.

Im not very good with computers nor technology, this is a good chance for me to work on it. My husband is very excited that I am starting a blog. For some reason I am not.
